I lived here for over a year and I would say my experience was good/fair. This place is nothing special, you just pay a lot of money mainly due to the location. Its in walking distance to a lot of night life and cool places to eat, but you could probably get a cheaper place if you choose a location a bit further than being in the heart of Old Town. The amenities were pretty good, I liked that the pool was heated so during the winter you can still go swimming, which I havent seen at a apartment complex since I’ve moved to the valley. The gyms are a good size and have some pretty good equipment. Im a gym junkie so I didn’t find it adequate enough so I still went to another gym down the road. I would suggest this place invest in a community business center for computers and printers. They had originally told me when I moved into this place that they were in the process of setting one up but it never happened. Also, NO ONE ever answers the phone, EVER. If you need to contact the front desk you’ll have to go walk down to the front office. It was literally the most annoying and inconvenient situation EVER. For the most part the floor I lived on was maintained well and was clean other than the smell. They often clean the carpets in the hallways which I was impressed by but was probably because there’s drunk people throwing up in the halls and stairwell. Its kinda gross because sometimes the halls will smell like mildew. I lived in the east building so I cant say how the elevators are in the west building but the one in mine was horrible, it took forever to go up and down the floors. I eventually just opted to going up and down the stair well because it was much quicker. This place also isn’t the quietist of places, so if your savor your quiet nights from time to time, this place is not for you. You can hear the bass from the night clubs and people yelling and screaming throughout the night. You will never be able to leave your windows open, least I didn’t. If you have a family this is probably not the ideal place for you as well.
My apartment was nice but there is literally no storage like I’ve seen in other places. They have extra storage that you have to pay for which I thought was a joke but when I asked for more information about it they said they didn’t have anymore storage available so I guess I was just SOL. The granite countertops are not sealed right so you will see dark stains all over them, it drove me nuts. Multiple times I had to get maintenance to fiddle with my water heater because I would always run out of warm water when I’d shower. I honestly think that the shower heads expelled too much water resulting in a short supply of water when showering. Over time I just gave up because I had to say something to them so often and felt bad. I loved the floors in this place, if you like no carpet this place is great. The appliances are nice and new. The shower in nice and large. The maintenance people were always prompt and took care of any submitted requests I ever had. The new management that took over after Broadstone left I feel is trying. They do organize events for tenants that they never did before with the pervious owners which I thought was awesome. Overall I loved living in Scottsdale but not necessarily the location I was in and I plan to move back and buy property, not rent.
